Senior Portfolio Manager/Chief Compliance Officer
Forrest Hill, PhD is the Senior Portfolio Manager and Chief Compliance Officer at Harrington Investments. He has over 10 years experience as a research scientist and 8 years experience in wealth management, securities analysis and socially responsible investing. He is a member of the investment committee and currently holds the Series 65 FINRA licenses. He has also held the Series 7, Series 63, and Series 66 FINRA licenses, Forrest earned his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He spent seven years as a research scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the Institute of Theoretical Dynamics at UC Davis, quantifying the effects of habitat destruction on species diversity. He has published 15 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals on topics ranging from physiology and genetics, to mathematical ecology and marine biology.
Forrest has served as a science advisor for several government and tribal agencies including the California Department of Fish and Game, the Sonoma County Water Agency, and the Nez Perce Indian tribe. In 2006 he was the Green Party candidate for Secretary of State of California. Forrest is a former treasurer of Share First Oakland and currently co-leads a financial literacy program for inmates at San Quentin Prison.
