At HII we are dedicated to an investment philosophy that emphasizes socially responsible investing, sector allocation and portfolio diversification. Only stocks that pass our social screens and are considered financially strong are included in HII’s proprietary portfolio. It is our belief that by investing in good corporate citizens, with a strong commitment to social and environmental issues, we can provide our clients with competitive long-term returns.
An important aspect of our social strategy is to actively introduce shareholder resolutions on corporate proxy ballots. Through the resolution process we have been able to take on a wide range of social justice, environmental and governance issues at the corporate board level. Through effective partnership with our clients and other social investing organization, HII has led many initiatives to strengthen corporate social responsibility, actively utilizing our voice as investors to promote constructive change.
HII was founded in 1982 by John Harrington and incorporated as a family corporation in 1984. The minimum account size is $500,000 in liquid assets.
